
In this heartfelt, gentle and uplifting feature film set in quaint hills of Nainital, we follow the journeys of seven-year-old Shanu and his single father, Sidhant.

As Shanu discovers his identity, he faces challenges from his peers and society. He must learn to embrace his identity and find acceptance and love within his family and his close-knit group of friends.

Sidhant, a teacher at Shanu’s school, must navigate through his own grief and prejudices while fighting societal pressures as he traverses through the complexities of understanding and supporting his child and loving him unconditionally after the sudden and untimely loss of his wife.


Together, Sidhant and Shanu must negotiate their intricate relationship, growing as father and son while also learning to understand and accept one another to form a unbreakable bond of trust and true friendship.

Bun Tikki explores themes of parenthood, acceptance, love, friendship and the importance of family, while also shedding light on the unique challenges faced by young children and single parents who have lost their loved ones.
